PARA-APPROVED DE-ESCALATION STRATEGIES — PART 1
This course is designed specifically to teach Paras (or new SPED teachers) different strategies to use for de-escalation and prevention of some of the most common behaviors seen in the classroom.
Part 1 includes de-escalation strategies and prevention strategies for the following 10 behaviors:
- Eloping
- Aggressive Students
- Interrupting Others
- Refusing to Follow Directions
- Threatening to Hurt Self
- Destroying Someone Else's Property
- Impulsive Students
- Lying and Denying
- Students Who Climb
- Making Inappropriate Comments
This course is broken up into 10-13 minute lessons by behavior. This course is created with audio over slides and printable resources for each lesson.
After taking this course you will walk away with several tools in your pocket for de-escalation (that you can implement immediately) and prevention strategies that you can work on to minimize these behaviors in the future.
